Enterprise Architecture Charter (Digital Transformation Program)

1. EA Program Overview

Program Name: ABC Bank Digital Transformation – Multi-Cloud & Hybrid Modernization

Duration: 4 Years (FY 2025–2029)

Scope:

  • 200+ applications across Retail, Corporate, Treasury domains

  • Multi-cloud deployment: Azure & GCP

  • On-Prem: CBS, LMS, LOS

  • Hybrid connectivity between Cloud & On-Prem

  • Business, technology, data, security, compliance, and governance alignment

Purpose:To enable a secure, scalable, and compliant modernization of ABC Bank’s enterprise systems, improving operational efficiency, accelerating product launches, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

2. Vision & Mission

Vision:To build a resilient, agile, and cloud-native enterprise architecture that supports ABC Bank’s business goals and regulatory requirements.

Mission:

  • Define target architecture and standards for hybrid multi-cloud adoption.

  • Govern solution designs to ensure compliance, security, and scalability.

  • Enable rapid modernization of 200+ applications through phased waves.

  • Institutionalize EA governance, principles, and metrics.

3. EA Principles

  1. Cloud-Smart: Leverage Azure/GCP efficiently; use on-prem for core systems where required.

  2. API-First: All integrations and services exposed via APIs.

  3. Security by Design: Zero Trust, PII protection, access certification.

  4. Data Residency & Compliance: PII remains in India; follow RBI & SEBI regulations.

  5. Automation & Observability: DevSecOps, CI/CD, telemetry dashboards, automated monitoring.

  6. Reuse & Standardization: Reusable microservices, container images, and architecture patterns.

  7. Vendor Neutrality & Cost Optimization: Avoid lock-in; monitor TCO.

4. Governance & Engagement

  • EA Team reports to CTO Steering Committee

  • Architecture Review Board (ARB) approves standards and exceptions
